Still running your 360 in SD?

Might I suggest you pick yourself up one of these?
A 19″ Widescreen monitor, for just over 100 of your English pounds, strikes me as a fantastic bargain. If anyone reading this is running their Xbox 360 on a standard definition set, I’d suggest they seriously think about upgrading.
Me? I’m tempted to get one for the bedroom…and the kitchen…and the bathroom…

But then you’d need a 360 in the bedroom, the kitchen and the bathroom and that could be quite expencive.
Good deal though, I’m tempted to replace my 4:3 PC monitor.
No, no, no. I won’t have them all connected to a 360.
I’d buy an army of Mac Minis, and connect those up. Ah, in an ideal world!
By aware though – if you’re swapping out a 4:3 screen you might drop a few pixels here and there. The native resolution of this screen is almost certainly going to be 1440 x 960. Your 4:3 screen is probably 1280 x 1024.
So – and here’s the maths bit – you’d be 160 pixels wider, so to speak, but lacking 64 pixels in the height department.
All that said, I’d find it hard to go back to a 4:3 screen these days.
Their website gives these specs:
Res: 1440×900
Color: 16.2m
Brightness: 300cd/m2
Contrast ratio: 700:1
Response time: 5ms
That sounds pretty good to me for that price.

A 360 in the bathroom would be cool though.
I went and took a look at some user reviews and I haven’t found a bad one, so went ahead and ordered it. With 17% off Amazon was the cheapest and with free delivery so paid £105. Amazing! I’m prepared to wait 1-2 weeks for that – the next cheapest was something like £130 incl delivery. What a bargain! I’m on a 17″ 4:3 CRT at present so it will bring some much needed real estate – I might even keep the CRT hooked to my older computer and have 2 running at once. I’m power mad!
Thanks for the tip. By the way I *think* I followed your link so you should get a commission
Let us know what it’s like Andy. And yeah, I’d keep the CRT hooked up for dual screen fun!
For what it’s worth, it’s not actually my commission – that link generates revenue for the most excellent DVD Forums. Which, by the way, is a site that’s well worth visiting.
Oh yeah I did think the link looked funny – oh well someone gets a little payout.
If I can find the desk space I might end up running the two computers with three screens! I could do with the extra processing power.
Will let you know sometime towards October.
